Six battalions á 36 minis each. This is the contents of five boxes, so I have loads of command and kneeling minis in my bits-box now. I painted them a bit differently than I have done before. I started with a white base coat and painted using a lot of washes. Certainly not display case material, but they will suffice on the game table.
My french force now contains 17 infantry battalions, 480 minis in total.
Very nice David. Glad to see the collection is coming along.
ReplyDeleteThank you RTB! I have made a couple of purchases recently (and planning more) so there will be more updates soon.
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic! I just got five boxes of Victrix Brit Peninsular infantry, one box of artillery and some Perry Riflemen that I'll be working up. It's nice to see a similar quantity of troops all in one.
ReplyDeletePhew, an astonishing amount of painting! Very impressive.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, if you still have all those kneeling figs spare i'd be interested in buying them from you.

Actually I do, Ill contact you as soon as the holiday hurly burly is over!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the size of the base for an infantry unit? What rules set do you use?
ReplyDeleteThe bases are 45x40mm and we play General de Brigade.
ReplyDeleteI was watching a video on painting Victrix Napoleonic French line. They looked good, seeing your pictures they are great! I haven't done 28mm since I was a kid, and I woudl not have dreamed plastics could be so good! Fantastic job and love the pics.

ReplyDeleteSuperbe division grand bravo à toi, j'adore. A bientôt Christian
ReplyDeleteVery good looking army! :)
ReplyDeleteCan I ask a question? Why you make 40mm depth base instead of 30mm?
I think its quite standard to put dubble ranked 28mm minuatures on 40mm deep bases. It would be a tight fit on 30mm deep.
ReplyDeleteYes sure, sorry I'm tring to start a napoleonic army BlackPowder compatible and I'm currently finding a way to base them close as possibile. I think your way is quite good :)
